You're looking for an activity to support your lifestyle and decided to start Yoga.
You couldn't have made a better choice for yourself. It's like they say if you want to learn an instrument, piano is the foundation to get yourself started, if you want to dance you should start with ballet, I believe that yoga is meant to compliment any lifestyle, young and old, man and woman.
I'm always reading, studying and doing my own research on how yoga is being used to support working individuals as a means to control anger, keep calm and of course to manage stress, and there is extensive studies proving the practice can be used as a mental support for highly stressed working individuals, entrepreneurs, students and mothers who are under 24x7 household pressures.
Even professional athletes are taking into yoga to compliment their lifestyle and enhance their sports performance and to help manage with aches and pains.
Quoting James LeBron, one of the many few professional athlete practicing yoga.

And so, what is left is breath. Another focus during a yoga practice. The "life force" that allows us to experience this wonderful thing called life.
There is a story that I read about the 5 senses and 'prana' debating which of them was needed to survive. The eyes says, "without the eyes, people would not be able to see, and people would be injured". The ears says "well without hearing people would not be able to hear danger to keep them alert and also hear the wonderful sounds, that the eyes could not see". The sense of smell argued that one could live without seeing or hearing, but to live without the sense of smell and tasting the richness of what the world has to offer would be pointless. And so the senses continued to debate.
Finally Prana woke up, and expresses that without itself, none of the 5 senses will be able to do its job.
Here is the interesting thought of the story. It is prana that allows us to experience life as it is. Do you notice how when seeing someone sick or ill we often hear a comment she/he looks lifeless, referring to the lack of prana in the person. Prana is the energy that rides on breath. Often mistaken as breath itself. We are always breathing, and yet you could experience a lack of prana (energy), but what if we understood better what to do with breath to help assist to increase or decrease Prana (energy). Let's ponder on this thought.
